RAIL LEASING
HISTORY
RESIDCO is a highly experienced and sophisticated rail investor, providing value to our lessees through both net and full-service operating leases. RESIDCO started in 1982 by syndicating and remarketing rail equipment for financial institutions, often toward the later years of long-term leveraged leases. We have since grown to have our own thriving operating lease business. We can attribute our expanding market presence to investing in quality assets, expedited execution, end-user market knowledge, extensive technical expertise, relationships with financial institutions, and customer-focused approach.
LOCOMOTIVE LEASING & LOCOMOTIVE SALES
RESIDCO has invested in and remarketed hundreds of locomotives over three decades. We have expertise in four and six axle locomotive marketplaces. RESIDCO has the skill to acquire assets, manage rebuild projects to customer specifications, and provide lease structures tailored to the needs of our lessees. We have invested in numerous locomotive types, including GP-38-2, MP-15, SD-75M, and SD-40-2 locomotives.
RAILCAR LEASING & RAILCAR SALES
RESIDCO’s strength lies in our willingness to take a wide variety of positions in railcar types to serve our customers. We have remarketed, syndicated, or invested in thousands of freight cars representing every major car type since our inception in 1982. Our fleet of 8,000 rail cars includes small, medium, and high cube covered hoppers for grain, plastics, and other commodities; low and high sided steel gondolas; 286k high-capacity coal hoppers and gondolas; and a wide variety of general purpose tank cars and tank cars for acid service.
RESIDCO – A SOPHISTICATED METAL PLAYER
While there are many different types of leasing companies in the rail industry, few are true “metal” players like RESIDCO. Our skill and willingness to acquire freight cars and locomotives without a lease encumbrance set us apart. We also offer fleet optimization solutions through trading programs whereby we will acquire a client’s unwanted cars and supply alternative equipment that more effectively meets their needs. We work diligently to repair or modify and place available equipment using our knowledge of the inner lessee marketplace, thereby providing incremental value to this critical industry.
